Signature Campaign: Turkey’s Implementation of the “Right to Hope” is Decisive for the Success of the Peace Process!
As a result of sustained public pressure and advocacy, the Committee of Ministers has now added Öcalan’s case to the agenda of their December 2026 meeting. This is a crucial opportunity where the council of Europe will have to take a position on Ocalan’s case, and the fact that Turkey has still not recognised his “right to hope”.
For this reason, we are writing again to the Committee of Ministers, urging them to take a strong position in the December meeting, and to push Turkey to recognise the ‘right to hope’ as the first step in legally ensuring Öcalan’s freedom. Öcalan’s freedom, is a necessary condition for the success of the peace process. We invite you to sign the letter, and to share it within your networks. The deadline to sign is October 31.

Statement on the Passing of Senator Lindsey Graham
It is with profound sadness that we mourn the passing of Senator Lindsey Graham, a longtime friend and supporter of the Kurdish people. Throughout his distinguished career in the United States Senate, Senator Graham was a prominent voice on issues of international security, freedom, and the protection of America’s allies.
For Kurds across the world, however, he will be remembered especially for his willingness to stand beside the Kurdish people during some of their most difficult and uncertain moments. Through his advocacy for the Save the Kurds Act and his continued efforts to defend the Kurdish people from violence, persecution, and abandonment, Senator Graham demonstrated that friendship with the Kurds was more than a matter of words.
When the Kurdish people needed voices in Washington willing to speak on their behalf, Senator Graham was among those who stood up and spoke. The Kurdish people have lost a friend, and the United States has lost a dedicated public servant whose decades of service left an undeniable mark on American political life and foreign policy.

Erdogan´s Security Guards Attacks Kurdish Americans Protesting His Authoritarianism (May 16th 20017)
On May 16, 2017, members of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s security detail attacked peaceful protesters near the Turkish Ambassador’s residence at Sheridan Circle in Washington, D.C. The demonstrators included Kurdish Americans and others protesting Erdoğan’s policies and crackdown on dissent. The violence drew condemnation from U.S. officials, and D.C. authorities later issued arrest warrants for members of Erdoğan’s security team.
